As part of our learning about 'Magical Monsters', the children took part in Monster Mash Day. We were amazed by all of the children's costumes! We went on a monster parade and showed off our costumes to our friends in Nursery and took part in monster activities where we made monster biscuits. In the afternoon we went on a wild monster rumpus and played lots of monster games. We had so much fun!!! Thank you to all the Parents/Carers that came to our very own Monster Museum.
Thank you to all the Parents, Grandparents and Carers who came into our 'Share a Story' event. We had such a great turnout where the children enjoyed sharing their favourite stories with you! The atmosphere in the unit was electric and it was so lovely to see the joy of reading being past down from you into the children! Keep sharing the magic of stories!
We have been learning about Chinese New Year and discussing how they celebrate this special event! To fully immerse ourselves in this we have been tasting Chinese food (the children loved this part!!!) and dragon dancing around the school. We enjoyed working together to become a dragon and listen to the beat of the music to move around the school together.
What an adventure we have been on today. Emily (from Sprouts) took us all around the world on her aeroplane stopping off at a few interesting places along the way. First of all we went to Poland and had to steal back the secret recipe for Borsch from the mean chef and hid by pretending be cutlery. Next our adventure took us to Egypt where we discovered the Pharaohs tombs and tried to get their treasure. A quick hop back on the plane took us to Norway where we ice skated on the Fijords and played Elves, trolls and Valkeiries (the children will explain)! Our final destination saw us land in China where we got to celebrate Chinese New Year and take part in some Dragon Boat Racing. All the children behaved beautifully and did Barnby Road proud and really got on board for our magical, dramatic adventure!
