The girls took part in the spring netball tournament on Saturday. They won their group convincingly winning every game in their league. In the quarter finals they beat a determined Chuter Ede team to progress to the semis. Unfortunately they met a very strong Highfields team who went 3-0 up very quickly. We managed to peg them back to 3-2 but couldn't find that extra goal to take it to extra time. The day did finish on a positive though with the girls coming out on top against Bishop Alexander in the 3rd/4th place play off. Great job to all involved.
A big well done to all of the children who took part in the heats for the Newark young musician of the year award. The children performed excellently and were a credit to the school. Hopefully some of them may make it through to the finals.
The girls were unfortunately knocked out of the county cup on Friday evening in the girls football. They came up against a very good West Bridgford side who played some excellent football. The girls kept battling right up until the final whistle and never gave up. Well done to all of the girls involved.
Just a quick reminder that it is our Friends Quiz night on Friday 6th March starting at 7.30pm. Tickets will be on sale this week costing £3.50 each including a chip supper. Please come along and support this event.
A big thank you for your support with the money dragon at the end of last half term. We managed to collect 18 570 coins which helped us to raise a grand total of £385.66. The Friends are very grateful for your continued support. Please see the attached pictures to see the before and after shots of the dragon.
Great job last night to the football team last night who won a very difficult match last night away at Willow Farm primary in Gedling. The boys battled hard for a 1-0 victory to progress into the quarter finals of the cup they won last year. Surely we cannot win it two years in a row!
Please remember we are in every day up to half term finishing on Friday 13th February. We then have an Inset day on Monday 23rd February and the children start back on Tuesday 24th February.
A big well done to the Boccia team who showed great determination in the latest set of fixtures last night. They lost each of their matches by small margins but were a credit to the school and showed great character in each match. Great job Nathaniel who made his debut and performed excellently.
The hockey team took part in three more fixtures last week even though they were missing a couple of key players who were attending the Nottinghamshire Indoor Football Tournament. The children managed 2 wins and 1 defeat and were extremely committed on the evening. Well done to all involved.
