For more details please click onto the subpage below.

World Book Day – Thursday 4th March

Today is World Book Day. Thank you for all of your help in choosing a book for us to plan our day around. We put the names of all the stories from the children at home and in school into a hat and picked out a winner, The Three Little Pigs. We have lots of fun activities planned for you to take part in today. There is no expectation to complete all the activities, we have listed a variety for you and your child to choose a few from to complete. We would love to see some pictures of you taking part in the activities we have set for you. Have fun children.

(There will be no maths or Read, Write, Inc today).

  • Colour in your own pig family – can you colour in your own pig family?

Crafting/Colouring – Here are some crafting/colouring activities for you to do at home.

  • Making pig puppets – Can you draw the pigs and the big bad wolf on some paper? Cut them out and stick them onto a pen/pencil/lollypop stick to turn them into puppets. See if you can retell the story with your new puppets.
  • Colouring sheets – Below are some colouring sheets that will need to be printed out. Alternatively you can use the colouring activity that has been set on purplemash.

Construction – Here are some construction activities you might want to have a go at.

  • Building your own house – Have you got some lego/duplo that you could use to have a go at building your own house that would stop the big, bad wolf getting in!
  • Collecting sticks – Can you go on a walk to collect some twigs/sticks. You could then have a go about building your own house out of sticks, just like in the story!

World Book Day Competition – Can you complete all of the ‘share a story’ stars over the next week? How many can you complete today? Tick them off to receive a special certificate and a stamp on your chart. Everyone who completes the competition by Friday 12th March will go into a prize draw within their class for a chance to win a book! Click here for the competition.
