‘Where everyone is able to achieve their best’

Autumn Term

Welcome to the Autumn Term in Year 5!

This term, we will be studying Victorians. We will focus on and explore our local area, where we hope to discover lots of facts about the Victorian period. Whilst on a Victorian trail around Newark, we will also visit the Town Hall Art Gallery to look at the work of local Victorian artists including William Nicholson and William Cubley. We will also visit the workhouse in Southwell to find out what life was like as a pauper.

In DT, we will be designing and creating our own pencil cases, showcasing our new sewing skills.

We will be reading the text 'Street Child' by Berlie Doherty as our class story.

Visit this page to see photos and work we have been doing in class and on our visits.
