‘Where everyone is able to achieve their best’

Primary PE and Sports Premium Information

Key achievements to date:

Areas for further improvement and baseline evidence of need:

  • We have continued to participate and be successful in local sporting tournaments and given children the opportunity to compete further afield at county and regional events.
  • We continue to prioritise inter school activities and competition throughout Key Stage 2.
  • We have provided training in key areas of weakness for staff as identified by PE lead. This has been further enhanced by covering teachers to allow them to observe PE specialists delivering sessions and allowing the PE lead to carry out team teaching sessions with less confident staff members.
  • We secured funding and have now built a wonderful new 4 badminton court sized sports hall for school and community use.
  • We have encouraged the staff to recognise PE specialist teachers in their teams and encourage them to offer PE/Games across the year group.
  • We have introduced yoga for all children from Nursery to Year 2.
  • To continue to offer more opportunities in alternative activities e.g. boccia, handball, yoga etc.
  • To continue to identify non-swimmers and encourage them to access swimming on top of curriculum coverage.
  • To continue expansion of competitive fixtures for wider age range of children and different types of sport.
  • To enhance lunchtime and before/after school provision of physical activity.
  • To fully utilize our Sports Hall to complement the Physical activities already taking place.
  • To use the children as sports leaders more readily and establish a clear system for this.
