Welcome back and a Happy New Year to everyone!
Our main topic this term is Ancient Egypt. We will be learning about the wonders of this amazing civilisation, including farming and the importance of the River Nile, pyramids, gods and , of course, mummification. We will even have a visit from Cleopatra herself!
Later on in the term there will be a science week focussing on "States of Matter" (solids, liquids and gases)
Cleopatra visit's Barnby Road!
Year 4 have had a very special visitor - Cleopatra from Ancient Egypt! She has taught us all about mummification - some of us even got to take out the organs!! We have made pyramids, papyrus and played the oldest game in the world Mancala! It has been a wonderful day.
World Book Day
The whole school has looked at the book 'Journey' by Aaron Becker. Year 4 used red pens (just like in the book) to draw a city and then used this to do some inspiring descriptive writing. Here is the picture of our display....more photos to come of their work.
