To finish our Habitats topic, children were asked to complete a project at home over half-term and they did a great job. If you weren't able to attend the exhibition last week, these can be seen in our Virtual Exhibition below. Many thanks for parents and carers for all the support you gave children with these!
October Sherwood Forest Residential Visits
Please click on the link above to view our presentation about the upcoming Sherwood Forest trip.
This term our first topic is "Habitats".
We will be learning about the different habitats around school, and what might live there. Later on we focus on woodland habitats in readiness for our visit to Sherwood Forest. We also include some science work on food chains.
Our second topic is called "Under Siege".
This will focus on the part that the town of Newark played in the Civil War, and how the people of Newark survived the dramatic sieges during the war. We have close links with the National Civil War Centre during this topic: we hope they will be able to visit our school bringing real artefacts, and we visit the centre and tour the town and castle to find out more.
Swimming and P.E
All children will be going swimming every Friday morning. To make sure that we have as much time in the pool as possible, children should come to school in their P.E. kit and are encouraged to wear their swimming clothes underneath. Please remember to bring a towel, goggles if needed and underwear for after the swimming session.
Each class will have their P.E. sessions on a different day and children should come to school in their P.E. kit on their allocated day.
