The Grand final of the Newark Rotary Club Young Musician Competition.

What an amazing evening! Thank you so much to all of our choir, orchestra, finalists and their parents for supporting this evening. We are very proud of all of our young musicians and are excited to announce that Hollie won the string prize, Frankie won the brass prize and Jacky won the piano prize and was also the overall young musician of the year!

Visit from the brass quintet of the Royal Air Force Cranwell.

We were delighted to have a visit from the brass quintet of the RAF Cranwell on Friday 7th February. They performed an impressive concert to the whole school- playing pieces from Indiana Jones to Bluey! The children all loved listening and clapping along.

Drum Exam Success

Our new drum teacher, Tom Chambers, has been busy preparing some of our drummers for exams this term. Drum exams are recorded in school and then entered by parents through the Trinity Exam website.

Recent successes include: Julian Ciabanu Initial Grade, Jonah Barnett Grade 1 and Kajus Mulevicius Grade 1.

Chamber choir performance

Our Chamber choir was invited to sing at a well-being event at the YMCA on Tuesday 4^th February. The group, along with a few other Year 5 children, attended well-being workshops in the morning and then performed in the afternoon.

Our senior choir, orchestra, Year 1 nativity songs and some pupils chatting about Christmas were featured in a radio show. It was on BBC radio Nottingham at 5:00pm on Christmas Eve and is available on the link below:

Joint concert with Newark Choral Society

Our Senior and Chamber choirs sang in a joint concert with the Newark Choral society on the evening of Thursday 14th December. This was an exciting new event and was an opportunity for the children to hear, and sing with, this adult choir and their amazing soprano soloist.

We are immensely proud of all of the children that performed in the Newark Young Musician heats. Everyone played brilliantly and it was lovely to see children supporting their friends and applauding children from every school that attended. Our Barnby young musician finalists were - Jacky on piano, Daisy on cornet, Toby on Trumpet, Regan on flute, Victor on saxophone, Winnie and Ethan on cello and Athena on violin. At the Grand Final Barnby were amazed to win every section and the overall Young Musician Prize! Woodwind prize- Regan, Piano prize- Jacky, String prize- Winnie and Brass prize (and overall winner) Daisy.

Our Chamber choir sang beautifully at the Children’s Bereavement Service this evening, despite being low on numbers due to illness. Well done!

Our amazing children sang and played beautifully in our Key Stage 2 Showcase concert. We featured the orchestra, Senior choir, Chamber choir, Ukulele club, Guitar club, Samba band, Wolfit winners and soloists.

Our Senior Choir and Chamber Choir sang beautifully in the Wolfit choir competition on Thursday afternoon (March 24th.) We won second and third places.
