Emergency Services

This half term we have been learning all about our local heroes! The children in Reception had a visit from some of the Emergency Services. It was a great learning experience and the children thoroughly enjoyed meeting the police and fire fighters. 

Yoga

We have taken part in yoga session with Mrs Hare. We acted our way through the  different fairytale stories, learning lots of different yoga poses. The children also got to take part in some breathing and relaxation exercises. We are looking forward to developing these skills over the coming weeks.

Our trip to Rand Farm

The children have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the trip. We started our day off with a tractor ride around the farm where we got to look at lots of the different animals. We then headed over to the animal barn to feed the animals, we even got to stroke some of them. We enjoyed looking at and stroking the rabbits and guinea pigs too.
After lunch we went to the hatchery and learnt lots about eggs and how baby chicks grow. The chicks they had were too old for us to hold but we enjoyed having a look at them and watching them hop about.
The children enjoyed their lunch and then went for a play in the soft play area, even the teachers got to have fun in there too!
This afternoon we watched cows getting milked and bottled fed some calves before having a play on the tractors and heading back to school.

Fairytale Day 

The children have thoroughly enjoyed Fairytale day. We started the morning with a catwalk, the children enjoyed showing everyone their lovely costumes. We then spent the morning decorating pig biscuits, just like the Three Little Pigs. The children also got to take part in a fairytale ball. We danced to some ballroom music and then had a party to lots of well known songs from different fairytales. The children have been so creative and made some lovely wands, shields and crowns too! T The Head Boy and Head Girl of the school also came to judge our crown competition. It was such a tricky choice but they managed to find some winners!!

Thank you to all parents/carers for your efforts in the children's costumes and crowns. They were amazing and have really made us smile. Enjoy looking at our photos from today!
