The school orchestra are now rehearsing in the large sports hall every Wednesday morning. We feel very lucky to have such a big space to spread out in! The children are sitting/standing with members of the same year group bubble. They really sounded amazing today! Please see the website to see a few photos:

Year 3 Oak class were learning about igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks today. They made sedimentary rock using layers of icing, chocolate chips and marshmallows. They then wrapped this is cling film to put it under pressure and heat to create metamorphic rock. After slicing this to see the layers they did then eat some of the experiment! https://www.barnbyroadprimary.com/autumn-term-6/

We will be talking about Harvest Festival in our assemblies this week. To help us celebrate Harvest Festival, and support children's understanding of charity and giving, we will be collecting donations of food for the Salvation Army for those in need. Over the next two weeks, children can bring a donation of food to put in the box in their classroom. The following items are particularly in demand:

- Shampoo

- Gravy mix

- Tinned peas and carrots

- Tinned fruit

- Tinned potatoes or instant mash

Please do not send any fresh food as all items will need to be quarantined before they are disseminated to those in need.
