Welcome to the Summer term in Year 5!
This term, we will be studying 'Around the World'. Under this umbrella term, we will be exploring different World countries, with a particular focus on South America. We will study mountains and rivers, paying specific attention to why people live near them and the role that they play in our lives. Complementing this study, we will also investigate the water cycle and the key role that it plays.
In art, we will be working with lino to create prints, before producing a mosaic from our considered designs. In DT, we will investigate bridges.
This is term that we will also embark on our amazing 2-night residential to Castleton in the High Peak area of Derbyshire. During this experience, we will visit caves, hike and explore the wonders of Mam Tor, whilst forging even stronger bonds and creating lifelong memories as a Y5 cohort.
