The law requires that the full governing body meet at least three times a year, one meeting each term, but as matters arise governors can be required to attend further full governing body meetings.
To ensure we fulfil the role of the governing body we find the most effective way is to meet as sub-committees before meeting as a full governing body.
Our sub-committees are:
- Finance, Audit, Risk and Personnel Committee, where we review the school's finances, any personnel issues and all audit and risk requirements. This committee meets once per term.
- Strategic and Pupils Committee, where we review the strategic development of the school and pupils. This committee meets once per year for a whole day to plan the strategic direction going forwards.
- Pay and Appraisal Committee, where we determine incremental progression subject to appraisals and any other pay consideration. This committee meets twice per year to review relevant matters.
- Disciplinary Committee. Meets when necessary.
