All children have been issued with hard copies of our term dates to enable parents to choose holidays during correct holiday periods.

Last year 10,185 prosecutions were upheld Nationally, and fines given, 20 resulted in prison sentences and all those parents now have a criminal record. FACT!

Children who have the most time off during school time perform far worse than all other groups. Children with 97% + attendance make the most progress in their learning. FACT! FACT!

The Primary Curriculum is delivered as a programme, missing key concepts in those programmes at a young age causes the foundations for further learning to be unsafe. FACT!

During Key Stage One and Foundation we teach every possible phonic blend needed for fluency in reading, miss those sessions at a young age and it can hold back your child's reading development. FACT!

Your employer has a legal and moral duty to allow parents to have priority when allocating holiday periods.

  • RADIO NEWARK PILOT A WINNER!

    Thu 19 Dec 2013

As Phil Johnson completes this month's radio show pilot he's probably exhausted from the amount of work he's had to get through but it's been worthwhile . The pilot was a huge success and the show showed a healthy profit even after the extra promotional costs of starting up. What happens now is that the Radio Newark team have to raise another band of sponsorship for March and if that too is proven successful, a permanent licence follows.

I think we have all thoroughly enjoyed the quality and professionalism of the pilot, it won back hundreds of fans from the Newark area and became great listening. Newark deserves a radio station, Phil's proved it can be a success, let's keep an eye out for more sponsors for the next phase of this fantastic community project. In the meantime the station will continue with an internet presence.

Thank you  to Phil,  all those DJ's and the hardworking team who put such great programmes together. We'll see you all again in the new year. Get digging out those sponsors!

  • PANTOMIME WAS GREAT!

    Thu 19 Dec 2013
A massive 220 tickets sold out to Barnby Road Parents and Children and what a great Panto it was. Bernie Clifton on top form (Don't retire yet Bernie!) and Mrs Dickinson having us all in hysterics on stage. A lovely family atmosphere, superbly excited and well behaved children and free Ice Creams, what a great evening.
  • CAROL SERVICE AT BARNBY GATE A SUCCESS

    Thu 19 Dec 2013

A massive thank you to the Barnby Gate Methodist church staff and reverend Phil. A fantastic traditional venue for this year in the beautiful two tier church. Orchestra, Choral Speech, Choirs (Junior and Senior), recorders (Junior and Senior), brilliant soloists and some thumping good congregational carols. A real community morning in the very heart of our community. Mrs Greeley excelled herself in planning a quality traditional celebration  with so much skill and talent on show. Mr Higgins showed himself to be far more than just a brilliant pianist and played the beautiful Barnby Gate organ with great aplomb.

Well over 200 parents and 300 children giving it their all. A great morning to help end our term.

Thanks to the community police who had us all safely down there within 12 minutes!
