Tracy Millar - Community Governor
I have been actively involved in the school since my son started in 2006, and have had both my son and daughter move through the school (both have now moved on to secondary education). I was active in the Friends group for many years, including being Treasurer for 6 years, and love getting involved with organising and working at fundraising events (such as fairs) and community events (BBQs, Picnics). I was elected as a Parent Governor in 2013, and have been active on the Governing Body ever since. Outside of school I worked for Mars for 17 years, running projects across Europe to research and launch new products. I am now lecturing in Marketing, Branding and Advertising at the University of Lincoln and Loughborough University, and am consulting and helping companies with their marketing and business strategy. In addition I am involved in charitable activities including links with a Township school in South Africa; have received the ‘Queens Award for voluntary service’ for work with Pera Foundation helping young people develop business skills; and created school programmes combining business & nutrition. Within Barnby Road I helped to set up and run the Tycoon young enterprise projects. I am enjoying using my work knowledge and love for the school to help make an even bigger difference to our children’s school experiences.
