  • New E-Safety CEOP button

Wed 14 May 2014 Miss Ferris

Here at Barnby Road we want your child to feel safe when using technology at home and in school.  You might have noticed our brand new CEOP button located in the top right hand corner of our website home page.

If you or your child notices any inappropriate content while surfing the net, the CEOP button can be used.  This button is linked directly to the police and is an easy way for you or your child to report an e-safety concern.

Should you require more information on how to keep your child safe online and when using digital devices, please visit our website using the link: Parents - E-Safety.

This year, E-Safety week will be taking place in school between the 9th - 13th June.

    Safe surfing!

  • Year 5 Magnus Maths Challenge winners

    Thu 08 May 2014

On Friday 25th April two teams of year 5 children from Barnby Road Academy took part in the annual 'Magnus Year 5 Maths Challenge'. All year 5 children had taken part in several team challenges within school led by Stacey Atkins from the Magnus Academy. All of our teams scored really highly and the two highest scoring were chosen to go to the Magnus for a final afternoon of challenges.

After several tense rounds of team maths problems and 'first to the buzzer' activities we won both first and second places and were awarded the trophy and prizes of scientific calculators. Well done to both teams! We have such great maths brains here at Barnby Road.

Winning team:  Louis Ketley, Caitlin McDavid, AJ Young, Callum Mumby

Second place to: Thomas Linford, Sophie Lamont, Brooke Woolley, Archie Nesbitt
