  It is with great sadness that we write to make you aware of the passing of Mr Ron Pickersgill at the age of 93. Ron was an absolutely wonderful man who worked and volunteered at the school for many, many years. He was a true gentlemen who loved his music and always found time for the children. A true legend!

• Harvest Donations

  We will be collecting donations of food for the Salvation Army for those in need. Please can children bring a donation of food to put in the box in their classroom by Thursday 15th October. The following items are particularly in demand:

   

  - Shampoo

  - Gravy mix

  - Tinned peas and carrots

  - Tinned fruit

  - Tinned potatoes or instant mash

   

  Please do not send any fresh food as all items will need to be quarantined before they are disseminated to those in need.

• School orchestra

  The school orchestra are now rehearsing in the large sports hall every Wednesday morning. We feel very lucky to have such a big space to spread out in! The children are sitting/standing with members of the same year group bubble. They really sounded amazing today! Please see the website to see a few photos:

• Oak Class investigating the 3 types of Rock

  Year 3 Oak class were learning about igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks today. They made sedimentary rock using layers of icing, chocolate chips and marshmallows. They then wrapped this is cling film to put it under pressure and heat to create metamorphic rock.
