Young Musician Heats
Fri 10 Mar 2023We are immensely proud of all of the children that performed in the Newark Young Musician heats last night and tonight. Everyone played brilliantly and it was lovely to see children supporting their friends and applauding children from every school that attended. Our Barnby young musician finalists are - Jacky on piano, Daisy on cornet, Toby on Trumpet, Regan on flute, Victor on saxophone, Winnie and Ethan on cello and Athena on violin. The Grand Final takes place next Wednesday evening at Barnbygate Methodist Church, our orchestra and choir are also performing at this. Well done everyone!

Avon class compositions.

The Avon class have had a challenging afternoon composing in the style of Ancient Greek music. We listened to some lyre music and different versions of the earliest complete Greek composition then used our ukuleles and voices to put ancient Greek poetry to music.
